If you enjoy running or walking and love supporting local charities, then we have a great news for you! The Harper Grace Memorial Scholarship Fund will be hosting its 7th Annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit the fund and its beneficiaries.
Harper Grace Lawler entered this world on November 2nd, 2017 and only lived a short while until she was called to Heaven on November 4th, 2017 following delivery complications. In her short time here on Earth, she reminded us that we must, now more than ever, love hard and fight harder. A scholarship fund was established in her memory for Murdock Middle/High School student athletes pursuing a career in human services.
The goal of the fund this year is to provide scholarship money for continuing education for nurses. All money raised by this event will be supporting this cause.
We are happy to announce a new location for this run, which will take place at the Winchendon bike path behind the Clark YMCA. The start and end of the race will be at the bowling alley a current home of HEAL Winchendon. Live entertainment, raffles, yard games and refreshments afterwards! Every registered runner/walker will receive an awesome long sleeve shirt (no shirts for registration received after 10/10/24). Choose runner or walker category, runners will be timed and winners announced!
We would like ask you all to wear the color purple when you are on your run to show your support for the Harper Grace Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.

I understand that running on and in public ways containing motor vehicle traffic involves risk of injury to any and all parts of my body. I hereby certify that I am aware that I will be placing myself in a potentially hazardous traffic situation and that I will have limited or no assistance of law enforcement traffic control at various locations along the route. For myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, assignees, and successors in interest (collectively the “releasing Party or Successors”), I expressly WAIVE, RELEASE and DISCHARGE the Town of Winchendon, and HEAL Winchendon, their officers, agents and employees or any other person from any and all LIABILITY for any death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft or actions, including any alleged or actual negligent act or omissions, regardless of whether such act or omission is active or passive which may accrue to myself or members of my organization/group or our heirs in connection with our participation in the above described event. I expressly INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the Town of Winchendon and HEAL Winchendon, their elected and appointed officers, agents and employees from any and all liabilities or claims made by me or my organization/group, my/our heirs and any other individuals or entities as a result of any of my/our actions in connection with my/our participation in this event except for those claims arising from the sole negligence or sole willful misconduct of the Town of Winchendon or the HEAL Winchendon officers, employees, volunteers or other representatives. Such indemnification includes liability settlements, damage awards, costs and attorney fees associated with any such claims.
